We Call Him Kipper

JMandKipper

We turned our renovation efforts outdoors this weekend. It resulted in trees going down, Mule rides, stump grinding and a furry new friend, we call Kipper*.

threeandKipper

He belongs to someone, not us, someone who put a red collar on him with no tags. We are temporarily caring for him until his rightful owners come get him. We've also explained to the girls that Kipper's owners are going to come get him and that he'll only be here until then. He's a playful, oafy pup and appears to be under 1 year. He's also a MALE, very MUCH a MALE, I told Justin this morning I'd like to take him to be neutered. Justin said he didn't think his owners would appreciate me taking care of that for them. I'm going to give them a few more days to claim him and then Kipper and I are off to the vet's office for a little PROCEDURE.

KipperKids

He's very lean and fits through the pickets on our fence which can be quite a problem. He's about as sweet as any dog can be and would make a great companion for anyone. He will follow you around the yard and then lay at your feet when you stop moving. He was still in the yard this morning when we woke up. I was half hoping he snuck out and found his way home and half hoping he was still there. Eufaby tolerates him fine. She immediately told him it was her house and she was in charge around here... dogs do that you know. But now she just looks at him and rolls her eyes, as if to say, "you're invading my territory".

Non-Kipper news.... Justin's been thankful for the help of another male this weekend.

And John Martin was elated to be included in the help, even if his help only involved being a co-pilot for a quick jaunt around the yard.

Happy Monday, folks! I hope you all had wonderful weekends too!

*Kipper- we named him after a video we have called Kipper the Dog. Do any of you know what I'm talking about? It's a little British dog named Kipper and it is so cute! The girls love it. I picked it up at TJMaxx or Ross for a few dollars and it's one of their favorites.

Is there any way you can transport Kipper over to Austria? ha. I'm dying for a dog, but my husby says not quite yet.

Can you please tell me where you get the girls haircut. We have just recently cut my little girls long locks to her shoulders but I would love to have it the length of your two girls.

Another vote for the Comcast "On Demand" version - he's in the kids' section and so cute. I love the books so much, too - I think we need to add them to our library list again now:)

Hey Darby! Actually that's Jack! He lives on Derbyshire, in Brentwood(my parents live on Rampart which runs into Derbyshire) his family doesn't take too good care of him. My in laws actually tried to keep him this weekend, but he jumped their fence. We wondered where he went. Email me at susivey@yahoo.com
Thanks,

Darby!
I have been a reader of your blog for over a year now. I lOVE every bit of it. As I have said before, I have TONS of friends who are loyal readers as well. Anyway, I wanted to know if you could do me a quick favor, please ;)?
I want to know EXACTLY which camera you have and which lens you use to take your everyday pictures? Your pictures are amazing. My father-in-law just bought the canon rebel 15megpix. and it takes awful pictures compared to yours. He uses the general lens the camera came with from Costco. Thank you!!!!

susannah, that is hilarious!! sounds like his mom and dad don't miss jack/kipper. so sad. and i'm gonna go on record as saying that i think all males need to have a little procedure at some point in their lives. i'm just saying...LOL!! better them than us, right?

If you have DIRECTV at all, Kipper comes on several times a day on the PBS Sprout channel, which pretty much comprises the majority of TV viewing at our house.

Kipper is adorable!! If his owners don't claim him, you can send him to my house! :) I love JM's dirty knees.

personally, I'm all for carting him to the vet and taking care of fixing him.. We don't need little baby kippers ending up in the shelter without homes! But I would be scared of the legal problems you may open yourself up to if you do :(

Kipper is very popular at our library... the books and videos.

If you bring him to the vet, they can see if he's got a microchip. We found a dog once who traveled 15miles away from home. He owners were very excited to get him back!

Kipper, Kipper the Dog....love the calmness of that show. Mallory used to watch it when she was little and loved it! She has mastered not sucking the thumb!!! Woohooo. Thanks for the tips on that. I need to try to get Marybeth the wildcat to watch Kipper to see if it will make her chill out a bit. She's my Hornet! PBS kids used to have Kipper on all the time. We don't get PBS Kids anymore, so not sure if it's still airing.
